Before the tax cuts package I signed in June, Kansas was one of only 11 states to impose a state tax on Social Security benefits, costing retirees millions every year. Now, that's no longer how we operate, and we're saving Kansas retirees $152M in the first year alone.

Kansas doesn't save money by refusing to expand Medicaid — we just give up the opportunity to bring tax dollars back to our state. Since we've had the option to expand Medicaid, Kansas sent over $7.3B of our taxpayer dollars to states that have already done so. Let's end this.
