Did you know that the tartan used in our Highland Games brand is Inverclyde's own tartan? The James Watt tartan was designed to commemorate the Greenock born engineer and inventor (1736-1819) who left such an important legacy.

The first so called 'gathering' was held in the 11th century when King Malcolm Canmore arranged a ‘foot race’ up Craig Connish near Braemar as a way of selecting couriers.

This year’s Gourock Highland Games takes place on the 12 May from 12 noon and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with a full show of Scottish sports, music, dance and entertainment.

Does your bike need a doctor? The fantastic team at Community Tracks will be on hand at Gourock Highland Games on 12th May providing their Dr Bike sessions with advice on bike maintenance. You can also try one of the E-Bike trails along the Esplanade.
