Session on Capacity with Michael Mylonas KC (Michael Mylonas KC) and Emma Sutton KC (Emma Sutton KC) (@serjeantsinn)
About last night... 😍 We had the best time celebrating with our fabulous #MUM2023 Award winners & special guests at Downing St! Thank you to everyone for joining us and to Number 11 for hosting. Oh – & rumour has it Larry the Cat made a special guest appearance...!🐱
#PMShoutout to Rachael Gourley who acted for a victim of domestic violence over 3 yrs. The Applicant was initially denied any criminal injuries compensation as she hadn't "cooperated with police." This decision was challenged on the basis it was discriminatory. (continued below)
The Applicant was then offered a low award of compensation. This was again challenged. At final hearing, she received a much higher award of compensation for her complex PTSD. The Applicant has praised Rachael Gourley (@serjeantsinn) for all her support. Thank you, Rachael.
