Opening the #ECOSOC side event on #EiE in times of the humanitarian reset @unicef's EMOPs Deputy Director Hazel De Wet highlights the urgent need for women's leadership to ensure quality, inclusive education that protects millions of children, especially girls.


Sharing perspectives from #Nigeria 🇳🇬, GHIV AFRICA talks about the impact of funding cuts on local, women-led organizations, and the need to raise awareness of education's lifesaving role, especially in protecting girls from #GBV, child marriage, labor and other threats.


While there have been promising efforts to lend concrete support to and investment in women-led organizations (WLOs), Education Cannot Wait highlights that funding cuts seriously threaten over half of WLOs. Empowering girls in and through #EiE must not be deprioritized.


At #ECOSOC, VOICE | Feminist Humanitarians highlights violence as a systemic barrier to learning, stating that #GBV is not adjacent to education, but central to it. In this moment of global instability, addressing GBV in #EiE so girls learn safely today, yields women who will lead tomorrow.


Taking examples from #Pakistan 🇵🇰, PAGE Foundation discusses the invisible leadership of women-led organizations and the negative perceptions that devalue the contributions women make, when they are often bridges between classroom and the crisis.
