It’s been a weekend of some excellent new world pinots here, both picked up from Woodberrys with 25% off. The ABC is a great price at €26 and I think I paid about the same for the Lost Farm yesterday. Both different but fine expressions 🍷

Jean-Paul Brun “Javenières” 21. Fun and vivacious yet with a stylish backbone, silky smoothness leads into layers of expressive fruit. Well balanced acidity allows the fruit to sing with finely tuned tannins in an excellent structure, 93pts. Available from Wines Direct €32.75

Possibly the greatest store cupboard dish, puttanesca, served here with bucatini. Garlic, anchovies, capers, chilli flakes, olives and a tin of tomatoes, delivers a dish greater than the sum of its humble parts. Perfect on its own but I topped with some pangrattato for crunch.

KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) I have no idea who I think I’m cooking for, it’s just me. If you fancy some chicken holla, I made wings too 🤷‍♀️😂
