Give Them Time If they wanted to improve the lives of ASN children they could, they have the power and resources to do so. What’s taken Government by surprise is how many ASN children there now are, so the lump being brushed under the carpet is so big they actually might trip over it.

Yesterday we published the next in our series of blog posts on the latest statistics/research and data news concerning the lives of people with learning disabilities. In this round up we comment on the following items released over the summer months:

This Programme for Government contains a staggering lack of commitment to addressing children’s unmet needs in education. While Scot Gov’s full response to the Hayward Review is still to come, the level of commitment is already clear to see.

Today @ScotGov presented its Programme for Government setting out its priorities for the coming parliamentary year. It is deeply disappointing that the Learning Disabilities, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill will not be introduced to parliament after two years of consultation(1/4)

Deeply disheartening news from Scottish Government. The long-awaited Human Rights Bill is vital for strengthening children's rights in Scotland. Our #RightsDetectives have worked tirelessly to shape this Bill – delaying it is a step backwards for #AllOurRights. We demand immediate action.

At #FMQs, I asked First Minister John Swinney what processes are in place for parents, carers, and pupils to challenge North Lanarkshire Council's cuts to school transport provision on safety grounds.
