More than 120 armed conflicts rage across the world today. The rules of war exist to reduce the suffering in conflicts. Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, asks parties to conflicts to respect and ensure respect for international law.

We are deeply concerned about the humanitarian consequences of the ongoing violence in different parts of #SouthSudan. Since March, we have conducted more than 700 surgeries for weapon-wounded patients arriving in Akobo Hospital and Juba Military Hospital. #SSOT

Accessing services for survivors of #SexualViolence, is still a challenge in #SouthSudan. Survivors MUST receive medical attention preferably within 72 hours after the incident of rape. #SSOT

Deeply concerned by the partial destruction of the MSF South Sudan hospital and by the civilian casualties in Old Fangak today. Healthcare workers and infrastructure, patients must be protected. Civilians must be spared and their access to healthcare must be preserved. 👇

Victims/survivors of sexual violence need immediate access to vital support within the first 72 hours of the crime. Support within this time frame includes prevention of pregnancy, prevention of HIV/AIDS, and treating injuries, among others.

🍛 Food is more than just a meal. Food is employment, community, culture, and well-being. In armed conflicts, food, which is basic for survival, can't be denied or blocked.
