Pleased to be back in #Nablus , but concerned by the briefings of Governor Ghassan Daghlas and Mayor Husam Al-Shakhshir: additional checkpoints, soaring unemployment, economic downturn. Obvious need for easing restrictions in order to avoid further destabilisation.

Peaceful protest & dialogue always has its place. We regret that today’s meeting of EU Heads of Missions at the National Museum in Birzeit was unduly interrupted by protestors.
Nevertheless, we remain committed to constructively work with our Palestinian partners!

We’re following with great concern settler attacks on Palestinian villages in the aftermath of a young settler‘s death. Mourning all those killed and many injured. Thorough investigation needed. In the meantime need for self-restraint and de-escalation on all sides.

Humanitarian workers must be able to carry out their important work safely - around the world as well as in #Gaza . We are calling again on the Israeli government to assure functioning deconfliction measures. Incidents like this cannot be allowed to happen. 2/2
