Humanitarian workers must be able to carry out their important work safely - around the world as well as in #Gaza . We are calling again on the Israeli government to assure functioning deconfliction measures. Incidents like this cannot be allowed to happen. 2/2

2/3 After the war, 🇵🇸 have to govern themselves. Therefore, the PA needs to be reformed + strengthened, more diverse + accepted by the people - especially in Gaza. Settlement expansion + settler violence undermine the PA + threaten two-state solution. They need to stop.

#TwoStateSolution : We strongly condemn the announcement to confiscate over 800 hectares of land in the Palestinian Territories as Israeli 'state land'. This would be the largest appropriation in over 30 years. 1/2

Every package counts. But airdrops are not enough. To supply the people in #Gaza , the Israeli government urgently needs to open more border crossings, especially to allow more aid deliveries overland by truck. 3/3

Only a two-state solution can lead to sustainable peace in the Middle East. In this regard, an effective and representative Palestinian government is essential. 2/2

The designation of Mohammed Mustafa as the new Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority is good news. He faces the important task of renewing the PA and implementing urgent reforms. We support the PA on this path and will continue to work together closely. 1/2

The people in Israel must be just as safe as the people in the Palestinian territories. That is why the #TwoStateSolution remains the goal of all our endeavours. As part of a peace process, this includes recognising a Palestinian state. 1/4

Already, the suffering in #Rafah is unfathomable. In an extremely confined space 1.3 million people are seeking shelter from the fighting. A large-scale IDF offensive in Rafah would be a humanitarian catastrophe in the making. The people of #Gaza cannot vanish into thin air. 1/2
