I've had a few people make this argument to me 'we have enough homes nationally'.

Putting aside whether this is true... who in Bristol are you going to allocate to go and live in Saltcoats, Blyth or Grimsby? Because I'm betting its not you.

If the Twentieth Century Society wish for these buildings to be reused, they should fundraise to purchase and do the work involved themselves. Forcing the current owners to preserve a building they want to demolish is a classic case of freeloading.

And why does this uplift vary by locale?
