A cardiac arrest and a heart attack are not the same thing.

💔Cardiac arrest - sudden collapse, no breathing or pulse, requires CPR & possibly AED

❤️‍🔥Heart attack - usually conscious, may complain of chest pain/tightness.

Call 9⃣9⃣9⃣ for both!

At the risk of repeating myself?

1. NHS England Workforce, Training and Education have lost control over PA issues

2. Any person / org pushing for local scope definition? We have done so over last few years- a recipe for chicanery

3. What did I say about these jobs eventually consuming roles nurses would go for?

Pay doctors competitively or we will leave.

It's as simple as that.

We are not your slaves.
We are not your property

We do however save your lives and those of your loved ones and prevent and treat your illnesses.

Pay us competitively.

Dr Rachel Clarke Can I highlight an excellent resource - the Baron-Townsend “Intention to Tweet” Matrix? The example in this thread ⬆️ is truly outrageous and unprofessional, but there are sometimes much subtler combinations. The paper itself from is at researchgate.net/publication/31…

Paramedics, you are making a difference that your medical and nursing colleagues don't always see.

They don't see the patients you calmly, carefully assess, diagnose, and discharge at scene.

They don't see the patients you palliate, verify and send to the undertaker.

Jack During my time in GP Land I always used the question ‘who are you writing this for?’

‘The paramedic at 2am on a Saturday morning with limited support who’s trying hard to make the best decision for the patient’

If you don’t forget that it’s easy!

'The NHS gets enough money'

Beds per 1000 population:
Germany 8
France 5
UK 2.2

UK hospital beds
In 1988: 299,000
In 2020: 141,000
Despite the population rising.

Don't believe the absurd lies that the NHS has enough funding or enough beds.

Paramedics, including me, often provide I.V. Paracetamol as an extra top-up of fluids when considering pain/pyrexia management in a hypotensive patient. It makes sense right? There's a wee 100ml of fluids to help out. No brainer right?
Wrong. 🧵1/8

Well. I lose my dad as childcare when I move, and up tiny humans nursery to 5 days a week.

Guess what I will have left over on the 2nd of the month when all of my bills have come out?

£142

That’s to feed us and fuel. I have a GOOD wage… how are people meant to survive?…

Following on from a recent poll with a slightly different angle.

Paramedics, students and ambulance peeps - what is the best full time, pre-reg education pathway for paramedic training?

Now we have whooping cough cases rising in the UK.

It's like we are going back to the Victorian age.

Vaccines work and nearly eradicated these diseases but Malhotra and Cartland and Bridgend and other antivaxxers have misinformed and scared the public.
