The irony: faculty can't stop students from using AI (for various good and bad reasons), and we (educational developers) can't stop faculty from using AI detectors (though we know they're bad)

Then it told me to remove a comma that wasn't there.
We need to train ourselves to expect this kind of inconsistency.

What can I learn from this? The craft of teaching requires one to continually improve what they do. Those who develop the capacity to step back and look objectively (and judgmentally) on practice will become the designers of the best lessons.

'What do you need from me?' tells me that you are distancing yourself from the project and are not even willing to understand what your might be.
