Wow. This book. I SEE COLOR: An Affirmation and Celebration of Our Diverse World by Valerie Bolling, Kailei Pew, and #layliefrazier is powerful, affirming, heart-tingling, and just really, really wonderful. Put this one on your lists. I'm preordering now. Coming 5/8/24.
ICYMIπ§΅Great to see the levels of engagement with this National Literacy Trust research, as well as to hear Lucy Starbuck Braidley & Helen Jones present key findings at this weeks #PrimaryLitConf24 event. You should also check out Lucyβs rather excellent Comic Boom podcast from her profile page.

There was so much to enjoy and learn at the National Literacy Trust conference today. But one of the really striking things for me was how much they valued and appreciated the delegates attending and the knowledge they brought. This wasnβt an event where people were told what to do.
After a long but extremely rewarding day at #PrimaryLitConf24 , feeling very blessed and grateful for colleagues like this Fiona Evans Lucy Starbuck Braidley Emma Taylor Jasmine Tucker Ruth King Victoria Baker and more of National Literacy Trust family. πππ #BetterTogether

Had a brilliant time running a comics workshop at National Literacy Trust #PrimaryLitConf24 with Lucy Starbuck Braidley Feedback from one lovely teacher was that she now felt enabled to run a comics club herself. MISSION ACOMPLISHED!! π
A great workshop to carry out at the #PrimaryLitConf24 during the week where we revealed that 2 in 5 children and young people read comics or graphic novels at least once a month!
