We're wrapping up the week by hosting the UAB Department of Surgery Research Retreat!🔬 As Vice Chair of Research Dr. James George noted: "One of the great things about our department is the range and depth of research interests across each of our divisions."

UAB Surgery Dept. Chair Dr. Herbert Chen (herb chen) was recognized by @uabinnovation for the patent, Neuroendocrine Cancer Targeted Therapy. Additional inventors include Xiaoguang Liu, Lufang Zhou, Jianfa Ou, Yingnan Si, Renata Jaskula-Sztul, Jason Derek Whitt, and Jianyi Zhang.

It’s been 13 years since I received my PhD, and on April 11th I received my promotion to Full Professor. Hoping my late advisor, Dr. Pfau, is smiling from above. 💜💛💜💛
