We have been looking for autumn changes today in reception. The children collected some leaves 🍁 that had changed colour and we read the text ’The Leaf Man.’ This inspired the children to create their own leaf 🍂 pictures.

Today we have been making a number wand by drawing around our hands and decorating them! We enjoyed Cosmic yoga and went outside to develop our gross muscles and spatial awareness.

Reception are learning how to be independent outdoors in the mud kitchen. They loved the sand pit today as we put new sand in. Our star bakers ⭐️baked jam and lemon tarts and after a vote for next week’s bake it was decided that cakes are on the menu!

In reception class this week we are looking at how we are all different. We have been learning about our bones 🦴 and naming parts of our body. In phonics the children are learning new phonemes and writing the grapheme correspondence.

An amazing Teddy Bears Adventure was had by our Reception class today. They learnt all about SWAF, made some smelly tea and used their senses in the woods!

A catch up with our learning in reception class last week. Lots of practical activities with number bonds and doubles. We have begun our topic of ‘The World’🌎 and went outside asking the question ‘who lives in Gods world?’

Reception have been reading a story about Refugees this week and learning about they feel moving from their homes. We also learnt that there are famous people who had to move away too.

A good start back to the summer term in reception class. The children have been interested in volcanoes, shopping, the mud kitchen and storytelling this week. We have been focusing on friendships too!

Today, three members of Year 5 created and presented a lovely collective worship. The children were asked to reflect on the message contained in the scripture and to compose a prayer asking for help to recognise that God is everywhere and in everything that we do.
