Began learning about transportation with my kindergartners this week. We incorporated some playtime to reinforce vocabulary and sang a song using our words. Im so proud of how far they have come! Creekside ECS #NeedToSucceedCECS #WEareLakota

These kindergartners are working hard during our transportation unit! They are matching upper and lowercase letters, focusing on middle sounds and reading their books using vocabulary words. 👏🏼👏🏼 Creekside ECS #NeedToSucceedCECS #WEareLakota

My second graders were surprised with some pea spouts! We tried a new triangle vocabulary strategy and they did great! We also dictated some -ow words and drew pictures to match the words. Lastly, we read and discussed a book with lots of garden vocabulary! Creekside ECS

Our seeds have sprouted! We also played I have, Who has …. with Garden words. I love vocabulary games because it practices oral language in a fun and engaging way! Creekside ECS #WEareLakota #NeedToSucceedCECS

This looks so fun! I love how this uses pictures to show the feature and the reason/opinion. Creekside ECS how can we implement this at our grade bands?

Our seeds have grown and we have replanted them in a bigger area. We also observed roots. We continued studying fiction stories by talking about beginning, middle and end. #WEareLakota #NeedToSucceedCECS Creekside ECS

I absolutely loved this podcast episode. It shares some research and misconceptions of the science of reading and what works for all learners including multilingual learners. Creekside ECS #WEareLakota podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sci…

Don’t you LOVE sticky notes? You should!😆 My newcomer boys loved doing this today! By the middle of the book they were reading by themselves, and labeling like pros! Boosting competence! They were SO happy and proud!🥰 Dr. Carol Salva 🌍 Dr. Vαℓєηтιηα Gσηzαℓєz ♥️🙌🏽

Going to the zoo on Friday was such an amazing experience. They loved the animals, train and especially the carousel. It was so exciting and full of joy. They have learned so many English words this year. It’s inspiring! #NeedToSucceedCECS Creekside ECS #WEareLakota

My second year ML students are closing a unit on "creature features!" We've practiced animal names and body parts. We've also described how they look and how they moved. We compared and contrasted two animals. They are excited to share their final research project in a few days.
