For five years, I served in Congress from a swing district. Then, on January 8, 2011, a man tried to assassinate me. He shot 19 people and killed six. I almost died. But I fought for my life and survived. Today, I was proud to speak in support of Kamala Harris.

I was born in the great state of Arizona, where I grew up racing motorcycles and exploring the beautiful desert. Then, I fell for an astronaut. I’m so grateful to have the love of my life by my side every day, Captain Mark Kelly.
