Today was our second LDL semifinal, and we had a big upset! The 5th seeded Hot Shots took down the #1 seeded Lightning Bolts, 4-2. So many awesome, intense games in Sandowne intramurals. Tomorrow is our championship, Hot Shots vs. Blitz! LDL - Dip, Duck, Dive, and Dodge!

We have finished off our Science Units, and we’re back in Social Studies. 6s kicked off the Canada and World Connections unit by making connections to places they know around the world. 5s kicked off their Government Unit, but looking at the different types of gov there are.

In Math, we’ve been working on some Algebra. Ss first learned how to solve regular equations with an unknown variable, and we’re now working on solving expressions when the variable is provided to us. Lots of good partner work today during our take-up!

In PE, we’re working through another Fitness Unit. If you’re not participating, you’re counting, timing, and supporting your classmates. It’s been great seeing students push their fitness to the maximum level, and I always love seeing their improvements since our first unit.

Today was the big day, where we celebrated our The Umbrella Project Optimism winners! Our umbrella wall looks great, with so many wonderful messages. We had a fantastic assembly, where, unfortunately our winner, Tegan, was absent. Happy weekend!

Happy Monday! We’ve begun painting our “Quick as a Cricket” art. Loving what I’m seeing around the room, with colours and smooth painting strokes. Way to go, Room 13!

In Math, we’ve started a Measurement unit, beginning with conversions between metric units. We have a rhyme and riddle to help us remember how to properly convert our units. Lots of students locked into a problem solving activity, after taking up their worksheet from yesterday.

Today we had the Moccasin Identifier Project at our school. There was some great learning about the importance of following our treaties and acknowledgments. We need to not only know these things, but fit them into our daily language and practice.

Today was another celebratory day at Sandowne, as we enjoyed our time capsule assembly. Wonderful work by Kynaat, Carissa, and Kallan, who helped run our assembly today. As part of our 50th anniversary, we made new items to put in the time capsule, and everyone wore their shirts!

We had a wonderful last day of school. We finished off our movie, Wonder, and then we played some Asteroids, played some games in the middle block, and had a great party to end. Very lovable crew of young humans! Peace out Sandowne!
