The boys 4x100 put together a very solid relay of 42.02 to place 20th at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet invitational. Relay members included: Dante Deynes, Joaquin Barlow, Baylor Smith, Garrison Riggs

The Longhorn track and field program has had quite the record breaking month! Joaquin Barlow set a new school record in the 100 with a blazing fast time of 10.24 Jack Greene also took down one of the oldest records in the wall with his discus throw of 157’4”

District 20-6A started with the field events today and the Boys have scored points in every event we’ve entered thus far! Great start to the district championship!

Ellison Collins (c/o 2027) takes home the Bronze in the Long Junp with a PR jump of 21’7” And he is your District Champion in the Triple Jump, with a PR jump of 46’7”

In the shot put, Jack Greene takes the bronze, and Roy Greene takes home the silver. And for the first time in school history, all three discus throwers have scored points for the team total. Roy Greene takes 3rd, Jack Greene 5th, and David McDowell places 6th

The District 20-6A Track and Field meet has concluded. The Boys are your district runner up with 129 team points. The Longhorns will advance a total of 9 individual athletes and two relays to the area meet!

In the 100 meter dash, senior Joaquin Barlow is your district champion with a time of 10.21 (+3.0) Freshman Garrison Riggs placed 4th with a time of 10.60 Excellent racing!

In the 200, Joaquin Barlow takes silver with a time of 21.71 (-3.6) Running out of his mind, senior Baylor Smith, who qualified 8th, places 4th with a time of 22.57! Massive performance to help the team, and leave his mark on his senior year! Excellent racing!

In the 400 meter dash, the Longhorns go 3rd and 4th, with junior Kaizer Ifeanyi running a 50.97, and senior Joshua Akaluso running a 51.01 Excellent racing, and strong mental perseverance by both of these young men to stay patient and driver hard off the last turn.

In the 300 Hurdles, Branson Masculine places 2nd in a tough race. Keeping his composure, Branson will tell you it was not a good technical race, but the young man loves to compete! Running a 40.08 for his personal best. Watch out for this young man in the future!

Ellison Collins places 5th in the 110 Hurdles. Ellison was a massive contributor to the team’s success this district meet. Bringing home 26 points over 4 events!

Junior Joshua Deleon wears his heart on his sleeve. He placed 7th in the 800, running a personal best of 2:04.05. He raced to win, and unfortunately came up short the last 100 meters. Excellent effort and great junior year Joshua!

In a thrilling 4x100, the boys are your district champions with a time of 41.08! Relay team consisted of Kaizer Ifeanyi, Joaquin Barlow, Branson Masculine, and Garrison Riggs

As always, the 4x4 was the most exciting race of the night. The relay team placed 2nd as Branson Masculine walked down the home stretch to close a 10 meter gap and grab the silver medal!

Some of the stories we love, senior Romeo Rodriguez, who started running just last year, had one goal and that was to break 5 minutes in the mile. He clocked a 4:59.64 to accomplish his goal! I’m proud of the hard work you’ve done young man!
