A short foray yesterday at Maybecks plantation produced some nice fungi.Snakestongue truffleclub,The Sickener,Pipe club and Purple jellydisc ! With Meadowendy ๐
More lichen mayhem !I'm presuming this little beauty is Haematomma sp.Seen today , after rain, on an old church boundary sandstone wall, North facing ๐ Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright
Out and about on the misty moors today.Old Sandstone quarry loads of lovely lichens including Cladonias !But this one caught my eye.Squamules as big as the podetia ! Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright
This old quarry site had a few specimens of Sphaerophorus globosus. My third site this year for a lichen which is much under-recorded here in VC62! Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright
Interesting that Jenny Seawright thinks i may have found Sphaerophorus fragilis because at the same quarry i discovered Ophioparma ventosa possibly !Both lichens prefer a higher altitude !๐
I'm fairly familiar with Acarospora fuscata , commonly found on the dry stone walls on the moors. But i've never noticed any growth on them like this ๐ค Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright
Don't worry Jenny Seawright i have a lichen for you !Melanohalea elegantula ๐ค or Melanelixia sp. ?
Nice to find Cetraria aculeata at a new site, a shale scree !Also Baeomyces rufus and Cladonias because i love them !!๐ Jenny Seawright
