2 .More lichens from Runswick bay !

A short foray yesterday at Maybecks plantation produced some nice fungi.Snakestongue truffleclub,The Sickener,Pipe club and Purple jellydisc ! With Meadowendy 🙂

Cave spider (Meta menardi) was a new spider for me.Kindly shown to us whilst on a survey of Botton.

Out and about on the misty moors today.Old Sandstone quarry loads of lovely lichens including Cladonias !But this one caught my eye.Squamules as big as the podetia ! Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright

I think this is Clavaria argillacea ( Moor coral).Found today on the moor edge here in VC62! @Fhickenbottom

This old quarry site had a few specimens of Sphaerophorus globosus.My third site this year for a lichen which is much under-recorded here in VC62! Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright

Interesting that Jenny Seawright thinks i may have found Sphaerophorus fragilis because at the same quarry i discovered Ophioparma ventosa possibly !Both lichens prefer a higher altitude !😃

I think this is Lichenomphalia umbellifera found on the moor edge near Goathland today.

I'm fairly familiar with Acarospora fuscata , commonly found on the dry stone walls on the moors.But i've never noticed any growth on them like this 🤔 Anthony Speca Jenny Seawright

This lichen took me by surprise, covering a lightly used sheep track on the moor.Dibaeis baeomyces i believe, another new one to me !😃

And now for something completely different.A beautiful Slimemould !!Found today on a forest track!😃

A few of us from Whitby nats had the honour of surveying Whitby abbey today, mainly for lichens.Ramalina siliquosa was surprisingly common , alongside Diploicia canescens.

On the cobbled courtyard , near the Abbey entrance, i found several Liverwort naval (Loreleia marchantiae). @Fhickenbottom

Nice to find Cetraria aculeata at a new site, a shale scree !Also Baeomyces rufus and Cladonias because i love them !!😃 Jenny Seawright

A cool misty moorland mooch this morning.Some interesting fungi seen , including hundreds of Waxcaps and Earthtongues !
