Word of the Day: orgraff 'orthography': geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html?o…. 95 years ago today Sir John Morris-Jones died. He chaired the committee that produced the standard work on Welsh spelling in 1928, which set the standard for Welsh spelling and is central to the Dictionary's work.

Word of the Day: tyrfa 'a crowd': geiriadur.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html?t…. 'Y Dyrfa' was the title of the poem that won the Crown for Cynan, at the Bangor Eisteddfod in 1931. It is a poem about a rugby game which was something completely new in Welsh. Cynan was born 129 years ago yesterday.
