Decided to go back to the 16-bit world from 32-bit for a while, and started porting Genesis-MiSTer to Tang boards. This one is pretty straightforward. After a weekend the VDP test suites are already running. Moving on to sound.. Now I just need that Tang 60K handheld Sipeed 😀

I think 60K-LUTs is a good spot for Tang boards. Core development is much easier than the ~20K. Mostly because there's more BRAM. Price is competitive (think $70 board or $100 handheld). And looks like we'll have 5-10 cores with a few volunteer developers working on these boards.

The MegaDrive/Genesis core ported from #MiSTer to Sipeed Tang is almost ready for a first release. Faster than I expected thanks to the original core's clean code. For Tang Mega 138k and the upcoming TangConsole 60K. Here's a preview 👇

New core for Tang FPGA: #MDTang 0.1 🚀🚀. Mega Drive / Genesis is one of my favorite consoles, a star of the 16-bit era. This is a port of Genesis-MiSTer with very few changes. Game compatibility is already good. If you have Tang 138K/Pro, grab it from github.com/nand2mario/mdt….
