No matter how many tourneys one plays there is always something unique each time. Like this blitz team event in Bavaria that I played. Only then I realised I had never before played 5+0 over the board. Wasn't the strongest field, but felt good to score 17.5/18 individually ๐Ÿ˜Š

The passing of Shri #OommenChandy makes me so sad. I have such fond memories of interacting with him. He was the first to congratulate me over the phone after I won the World Junior bronze. He was Kerala's chief minister back then. A humble and always welcoming politician. RIP ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

I did ask an arbiter during the game whether watches were allowed, and he clarified that smartwatches were banned, but not analog watches. This seems to be against FIDE rules for events of this stature

Great performance by SL Narayanan. He was just half a point off first place and missed two good chances against Sindarov 2 days ago and today against Hikaru Nakamura. #QatarMasters2023

Winning the inaugural event in #ellobregrat open in 2019 was so special. Now to win here again this year, that too in a very competitive field, is going to be a lasting memory. Thank you, #Barcelona

First time in my life played event with consecutive double rounds. And then in this position calculated Qd5 Re1 Kg2 Rc1 Ne3 and finally played first Kg2 and resigned. First time a blunder of this magnitude happening.Feels like the end of the world :(((
