Inspired by a number of #StyleGAN takes, and in particular, thispersondoesnotexist.com from lucidrains, I spent the last couple days teaching myself enough to put together ThisAirBNBDoesNotExist.com. These listings are entirely invented; no aspect of them exists in the world.

A Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) built in TF 2.0 using either a subclassing style (left) or the Functional API (right). The Functional API example reuses the Sampling layer from the subclassing example. You can always mix-and-match these building blocks.

Building on prior work training deep RL agents to navigate cities without a map (deepmind.com/blog/learning-…), we can now teach virtual agents to follow navigation instructions in cities #streetlearn arxiv.org/abs/1903.00401 Karl Moritz Hermann @MateuszOnAi Piotr Mirowski @bsky.social raia hadsell

“A simple novelty search algorithm finds the solution in no time. The issue with standard RL is that they lack good exploration strategies, so if they rely too much on the reward function, they fail miserably.”

New video: Simulating an epidemic. What happens when people avoid each other for the most part but still go to a common central location like a store? What if you can track and isolate cases, but 20% slip through the cracks? 50%? And much more. youtu.be/gxAaO2rsdIs
