My article on differences in COVID-19 response compared to that of climate change from a human dimensions perspective was published today. I wrote this *while homeschooling* last spring. I hope it offers a unique perspective during an unprecedented time. dx.doi.org/10.1017/sus.20…

Technical adaptation is a necessary but insufficient response to the complexity of climate change. My new World Development article is on a comprehensive approach to adaptation and how it can better position communities to engage in transformative change bit.ly/3itfV7J

US back in Paris Agreement. We now have a G3 in Climate - the three largest economic powers - US, EU and China, all adopting science based targets - NET-ZERO 2050 (no later than 2060 in China). This can tip the logic in the world.

An important critical article on adaptation by some of my colleagues just published in #WorldDevJournal call for a post-adaptation turn akin to post-development, by seeking a pluralism of ideas about adaptation. siri eriksen cCHANGE 🌎 ✊@lisaschipper.bsky.social

Karen O’Brien, Neil Adger and Ian Burton were awarded the BBVA Frontiers of Knowledge award this week, recognizing the importance of the human dimensions of climate change. No less than paradigm-changing. @cCHANGE_OBrien frontiersofknowledgeawards-fbbva.es/noticias/the-b…

There are so many calls for transformation as a response to climate change, but it is less clear 'how' that can be engaged. This special feature compiles 14 open-access articles on the topic sv.uio.no/iss/english/re…

New article! A more relational approach to trade led to greater resilience and sustainability of a coffee value chain in Guatemala. During the pandemic more relational supply chains held where most others fell. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

What does the Uxbridge byelection result mean for the climate agenda? The greenlash (back lash to climate policies) is a real threat we're seeing in more places (inc Oxford) My main takeaway is if you loose the public narrative you loose the policies How do you win ? (1/2)

Why does the outlook on emissions reduction remain so bleak? One important reason may lie in how climate policy and solutions are communicated to the public," writes Tim Linsell, a student in my UBC course on climate change communications & engagement policyoptions.irpp.org/magazines/janu…
