Understanding what's underground to make what's on top of the ground grow better. Last week's Soil Workshop hosted by the Upper Hopkins Landcare Group certainly drew a crowd to understand what goes on in the soils under the crops and why knowing benefits your farming.

Welcome back to Friday Fins! Ever seen a Pouched Lamprey? It has no jaws! So then, how does a pouched lamprey eat? As adults in the ocean, pouched lampreys are parasitic. Instead of jaws, they use a round, sucker-like mouth lined with teeth to latch onto other fish.
