McLennan Arch at Charlotte St entrance, Glasgow Green.
The arch was originally the centrepiece of Assembly Rooms, Ingram St, which were demolished, The arch was rebuilt in Greendyke St. During 1920s the arch moved again to Glasgow Green.

Ship engines on the move at Beardmore's Works, Dalmuir, 1911.
Beardmore's Works was active from 1886 to the mid-1930s and at its peak employed about 40,000 people. By 1896 the works covered an area of 25 acres and was the largest steel works in Scotland

In 1884 four passenger ferries began operating on Clyde between Victoria Bridge and Whiteinch. The ferries were sold to Clyde Navigation Trust which also provided cross-river services including moving platform ferries at Finnieston and Whiteinch.

Northpark House, Queen Margaret Dr, 1914
Isabelle Elder established college there in 1884 with 240 women. A medical school began 1890 with 13 students. A new medical school was designed in 1890s. In 1892 Queen Margaret College became part of Glasgow University.

George Square in 1957, featuring the x-ray screening centre which was set up as part of the campaign against tuberculosis. Thirty seven mobile units also travelled the city, and in all 714, 915 people were x-rayed in an effort to eradicate the disease.

Terraced houses, Grosvenor Terr, Dowanhill, 1931
Designed by J T Rochead, the terrace was completed, 1858. The Grosvenor Hotel opened at eastern end, 1938. Reo Stakis acquired seven neighbouring houses for expansion of hotel in early 1970s.
