Great to see so many former Heads of missions (and current friends!) at the AMBCANADA annual reception. Their tremendous support for our work in Canada and around the world demonstrates the special ties that are fostered from a career at GAC.

A very happy and well-deserved retirement, Suzanne! My daily coffee and snack runs won’t be the same without you. As part of our department for more than 24 years, Suzanne has been an important member of the GAC family. All the best in this new chapter!

Final piece of our governance structure is in place! Our new Heads of Mission Council will give us front line perspectives to better inform decision making.

Pleasure to meet with #Vietnam Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh during his first official visit to Canada. Great discussion on our bilateral partnerships to keep strengthening rule of law and human rights, as well as our cooperation in multilateral forums, like #ASEAN.

Pleasure to co-host the Canada-Germany High Level Steering Group meeting with State Secretary von Geyr earlier this week. Amid global challenges, Canada and Germany are committed to deepening cooperation on economic resilience and defence issues.

We had important discussions with GAC employees at yesterday’s town hall. It’s a challenging, but exhilarating, time to do this work. I’m confident we have the people, skills and expertise to meet this moment our country faces.
