First foray into the Podcast world. I speak with @paudiecrow about Cul Camps and we outline our Top Tips. Won't say it is a must listen to but might give Coordinators and Coaches a few ideas Listen to Cul Camp Podcast by Coaching the GAAme on #SoundCloud soundcloud.com/user-599819182…

Terminology matters. Dividing children into groups by current ability and then providing those children with inequitable resources that do not match their needs is not ability grouping, it's ability discrimination. By all means, explore ability grouping but not discrimination.

We designed these A3 posters to encourage our U8 players to practice their skills outside of training. Getting some great feedback from players and parents. 👍#Molanóige Any other ideas you have used??

A lot of the time these summer camps have more effective practices than their formal club training in my experience. Less focus on outcomes, the games are always more fun and engaging if not you’ll lose the front 15-25 little ones quite quickly. They get lots more social

KennyCarroll GameSenseCoaching Here's my favourite bit of "data" on this question of how much engagement do 'stronger' and 'weaker' players gain from small sided games. It comes from a US Soccer presentation by Sam Snow if I remember correctly. Page's picture certainly tells a thousand words.

Here is a lesson for coaches of young kids: Smaller hurley will ensure the child puts their dominant hand at the top of the hurley of using it 1 handed, as seen with the last swing & strike. It took him a while, but he got there..

Never give up. - Positive encouragement -Get a county player to give advice at a camp, special training session if you can (Prep them about it) - Advise the parents on why you are persisting -Use examples e.g. how many players playing Liam McCarthy level play that way? 🙌

Thoughts anyone?? Try a Skill Box (area set out beside the game) Dr Edward Coughlan mentioned this before. Bring 1/3 players out of the game at time to focus on very specific skill development with a coach dedicated to that role. Will always have even numbers playing the game then
