Started out with fine drizzle and then got very wet and windy on Walbury today. Parked car the wrong way, wet index fingers and laptop mouse pads just don't work! Finished soaked and miserable 😓

Looking to try a Filtronics Theseus (TA-405) E-band unit on 76GHz. I have the pin-out but does anyone recognise the connector type? It's 2 x 30 pin and about 24 mm long

Finally decided to try a POTY (Patch Of The Year) antenna on my QO-100 setup. The helix works but is very tricky to match and my earlier 30 cm patch panel is a good match but 6dB down on helix on the dish. Have to interface to an LNB next and sort out a radome

Attempting 122 and 134 GHz between Combe PMR site and Butser Hill car park this afternoon. 51.8 kM would be a UK record on both bands of it goes 🤞

Notable are the 1pps GPS locked head unit and FM ATV capability. The latter is a bit behind the DATV curve but the fully integrated nature is attractive. No pricing but I expect it will need a second mortgage! #IC -905

I need an antenna (well two actually!) to use with a DB6NT 47 GHz transverter. I've got a few ideas and the first one uses two large icing cones. Should give just over 20dB gain on each. Heath Robinson lives on!

Out portable today and worked Dave Austen + G8ACE on 122GHz over a 36.44km path - a new UK Microwave Group record!!
John was stronger than Dave who was very weak but we made a 2 way QSO using VK3CV units running Helscriber although I had to resort to very very very slow CW - a first-ever for me!

More activity today on #122GHz co-sited with John G8ACE/P. Noel G8GTZ/P at far end, 36.4km away. Managed a contact with Noel, Hellschreiber from me and slow CW back. Marginal and at the limit for VK3CV kit under UK conditions. John's higher power TX managed NBFM to Noel.

Out playing on #122GHz again. Reasonable propagation over our usual 26.5 km path

Pleased to exchange NBFM and Hellschreiber with G8ACE/P and NBFM with G8CUB/P (video) over 26.5 km on #122GHz this afternoon. Excellent with today's average conditions.
