American style cowboy/girl fits are usually casual asl too, on the mex side its always like dressed up when not in working clothes.

Many of the Old Masters lived alot differently than artists today, and I think people forget that when comparing skill levels. Most by their early teens would dedicate their whole life into their craft, often during an era that supported the pursuit too.
