Today in 1970: Horace Clarke of the Yankees broke up Joe Niekro's bid for a no-hitter in the 9th inning. It was the third time in a month that Clarke broke up a no-hitter in the 9th. He spoiled Jim Rooker's bid on June 4 and Sonny Siebert's no-hitter on June 19. #MLB #nohitter
