I want to amplify Laurie’s message here. Speaking for myself and the vast majority of transit advocates I know, we don’t like *the job* Dorval Carter is doing. He seems like a nice enough person otherwise.

I wish him a long, happy, healthy, and wealthy retirement, very soon.

I don’t want to be mayor, but I voted for someone who gave me the impression that *he* did. Like, do your fuckin job, dude. It’s been a year and our transit is practically dead in the water. Get it together and quit acting like you had no idea it was gonna be work to be mayor.

It’s noteworthy what the mayor doesn’t say: service, frequency, and reliability. Security and folks in crisis are key parts of the ridership experience of course, but at the end of the day the problem is that people can’t rely on the CTA to get around.

So no, you don’t get it.
