Houses have smoke detectors, but did you know that plants can too? Some plants have a protein that detects a chemical in smoke. Researchers UC Davis used AdvancedLightSource to investigate these proteins in peas and found that they help detect growth hormones: ucdavis.edu/news/plant-smo…
