Here's an update on my publishing deals mini-project: I parsed ~130 deals and have matured my script. I'm using GPT4 to help with some of the parsing. The biggest issue is that it's expensive. I'm assessing options to scale this efficiently.

I've seen/read a lot about AI sentience lately. Chat-GPT is just a completion engine. It's not thinking or being genuinely creative. It's just guessing what the logical next phrase would be. An auto complete on steroids. It's really good, but it's a looong way from sentience.

I just got my step goal walking to the fridge to get ice cream. This is my duality.

Last day of school was yesterday and we're already in full blown summer mode. Two of my kids had sleepovers last night, one had a pool party, and right now I've got two kids at my house that aren't mine and I'm just throwing pizza rolls at them while they watch movies. 😂

I caught my son in a lie yesterday. He defended it bc it wasn't a big deal and he only did it bc he wanted to play w his friend longer. I grounded him and told him he has to do yard work for his mom to get ungrounded. Reader, it's 3 days into summer. Three days!!!!!

As a parent whose kids are no longer little, but preteens, as they become more independent, it's common to mourn the loss of the relationship you had with them. But I've found the relationship doesn't go away, it just changes. For instance, now I'm their IT support guy.

Spiderman - Across the Universe is so good! So unbelievably good. It breaks so many rules and pulls them off so incredibly well. I am in awe. In a world where storytelling often falls flat or sticks to a formula, it's so refreshing to be surprised like this.
