šŸ§µ My objection to @keir_starmer getting any applause is endless, but letā€™s just talk about today: once again, he used the whip to openly bully MPs. Not to hold them to collective responsibility as Shadow Cabinet members, note, but as *backbenchers*. This is unprecedented. (1/4)

Labour MPs who voted with the whip because of the power Starmer wields over their careers should remember... It's the electorate who will ultimately decide their fate.

The US Congress votes to spend another $1.6 billion on anti-China propaganda šŸ‘‡. On top of the billions it's already spent. People don't realize just how massive an amount this is: $1.6 billion is the equivalent of the annual salary of 16,000 journalists paid $100k a year each.

Truly extraordinarily powerful interview of Dominique de Villepin, former Prime Minister of France, on Gaza. I can't stress enough how rare it is to hear a former French PM speak like this. He says France "no longer has a voice on the international scene", because (among other

Tough choices cannot be code for cuts. People do not understand why a government would choose to pick the pocket of pensioners and ignore a #WealthTax.

Described as ā€œthe most lethal fighter jet in the worldā€, every Israeli F-35 is made in part here in the UK. I, alongside 36 MPs, have written to the government raising concerns about complicity in violations of international law by not suspending export licences for F-35 parts:

For the media class the apex of politics isnā€™t being a prosperous, socially just, well run country in the North Atlantic. No, itā€™s cosplaying being a mid 20th century imperial power. They genuinely all want to be in the West Wing. For them - this is as good as it gets.

David Lammy announcing an extra Ā£600ml to Ukraine on top of the Ā£3bn a year in military aid. Thatā€™s enough to scrap the two child benefit cap and keep the winter fuel benefit to all pensioners. These charlatans think we are thick.

Must-read thread: @Collingwood paints a picture of an equivalent scenario in the context of Iraqis resisting the US-UK invasion of their country. Imagine, he asks, if Russia had given them missiles capable of striking "Boulmer and Catterick and Brize Norton and Sandhurst?"

.Zarah Sultana MP says she puts up with abuse because she "feels really lucky to be in a position to speak up" on issues like Gaza, poverty, union rights. She doesn't know how long she'll have a platform most people don't have and doesn't want to live with regret she didn't use it.

If only we knew who really owned the The Jewish Chronicle The only person who can be held accountable is surely BBC Director Sir Robbie Gibb since he constructed the smoke and mirrors around the purchase

This sorry episode highlights just how unaccountable MSM is. While newspaper bosses and their political allies are lobbying hard for social media to be 'regulated' - a euphemism for censorship - most of them won't submit even to a meaningful complaints system themselves.

Back when I worked with Jeremy Corbyn weā€™d often eat in Finsbury P. Heā€™d try to pay, but locals always wanted to talk community or thank him for his work. Happened so often that we had a system: heā€™d hand me the cash, and Iā€™d sneak it to the till while he chatted to the owners.

ā€œThe super-rich do not spend their money on MPs out of generosity and out of the goodness of their hearts. They want something in return. This wealth is used to buy influence in this House; to get this place to serve their interests and not the interests of our constituents.ā€

No one could have guessed that Prime Minister Keir Starmer would get immediately embroiled in a corruption scandal due to his addiction to gifts and freebies unless they had spent two seconds looking at his record.
