Well done to Astley & Tyldesley JFC U13s Wildcats on winning the Bolton & Bury Junior Football League U13s Girls Players Cup! The Freddie's girls in the team are Melody Aspinall, Megan Burke, Evie Trelfa-Rigby, Summer Kelly, Kasey-Mae Pommer, Caitlin Lythgoe, Isabella Chaisty.

Congratulations to former students Alfie Dunkerley, Ruby Coleman and Jenna Derbyshire, who were recognised at the Winstanley College ‘Celebration of Excellence Awards Evening’. Well done to each of you. A fantastic achievement!

The Winstanley College Open Evening will take place on Thursday 27th June from 5:00pm till 8:00pm and is a great early opportunity for Year 10 students and their families to explore the campus, before deciding where to apply in Year 11.

Year 8/9 cricket in action today against Birkdale HS. A fantastic game of cricket with great batting and bowling performances. Freddie’s fielding was suberb this afternoon with Alfie Church and Oscar Clancy taking brilliant catches. Well done to everyone involved today.

Congratulations to Eleanor Waller and Hannah Keigher in Year 8, who played in the prestigious Manchester FA U13 Girls County Cup Final on Saturday 11th May with their team Tiki Taka Lionesses.
Unfortunately the girls lost on penalties but both girls played exceptionally well.

Science club have been looking at the sugar content of different drinks in tonight’s session. We will be using this information to make better drinks choices in the future.

On Friday, we had a ‘Staff v Year 11’ football match on our 3G pitch to raise money for charity. The game was played in good spirit, with Year 11 earning the bragging rights with a convincing 5-1 victory. Well done to all the players, organisers, and to the spectators.

Congratulations to Garrett Hall Primary who won the #ATSA Girls’ Football Cup Competition. Well done to all the teams that took part. Thanks to the students from Fred Longworth Fred Longworth PE for refereeing the matches. Thanks also to Mr McMahon who organising this ATSA event Be Well Wigan

We knew Ella Toone would bring the trophy back to Manchester! What a goal to send Manchester United Women on to a fantastic 4-0 win in the FA Cup Final.

Congratulations to the Freddie’s lads in the Tyldesley RUFC U14 team who celebrated their fantastic achievements this season at their presentation evening.
They won a national tournament in Skegness/the Lancashire Cup and they are undefeated this season. Well done lads!

The nice weather over the weekend has unfortunately brought us some unwanted problems. We've had significant vandalism to our 3G pitch and several fence panels have been cut. If anyone has any information, please contact the school so we can pass details to the police. Thank you.
