The toppled oak, I filled in the root system with soil from the hillside to see if that might help the oak survive over the coming years. It toppled after a rain, we could see it was going to go over, and it's otherwise healthy. #hiking people comment about it some times

This rock has been annoying me for a month or so. I want to remove it yet so far it has #resist #HellNoWeWontGo resisted my every efforts to gently nudge it off of the trail. It must be nudged because the trail resumes down slope of it so I must use care and caution :)

Coulter Pine Trail, we got the obstruction removed and got *some* of the brush with the hedge trimmer, including a great deal of poison oak that we waded through -- after taking precautions, we will see in about 3 days if the precautions were enough!

:( A worker on a Caltrans emergency project was killed during an active slide on Saturday morning, along Route 36 east of Swimmer’s Delight. :( People can do everything right, take every precaution, follow every rule, and some times physics and just plain bad luck strikes

14 years ago, my old Army ruck sack, damn, I put thousands of miles on that, hard, hot, sweaty, difficult miles in rain, heat, dunked in to rivers and creeks, sucking mud, washed it a thousand times, it was one of the best packs -- made for the U.S. Army

Befores & in progress. Started clearing brush away from city recreation property along Glendora Mountain Road from Equestrian park to start Big Dalton Canyon Wilderness Park. I'll see if I can get other volunteers to work on starting at 6:30 AM because flying insects are murder!
