Commissioner Burke & the Boston Fire Department sends out thoughts & prayers to the Orange County, CA Fire Department following the horrific apparatus accident where several firefighters were badly injured while returning from fighting one of the many wildfires across the state.

A special day in Dorchester as ⁦Mayor Michelle Wu 吳弭⁩ and Fire Commissioner Paul Burke opened up a newly constructed Firehouse on historic Meetinghouse Hill. At the site they dedicated a memorial for the late Marie Conley a traffic supervisor who lost her life while saving a child.

Today Fire Commissioner joined the families to Honor & Remember the 60th Anniversary of the Trumbull St. Fire that claimed the lives of Lt. John McCorkle, Lt. John Geswell, FF. Francis Murphy, FF. James Sheedy, FF.Robert Clougherty. May they Rest in Peace & Never be Forgotten

Jimmy Carter dedicated his life to public service. Whether as a Georgia peanut farmer, United States President, or leading humanitarian, he never lost sight of his mission to serve others. I'm keeping the Carter family in my prayers as we celebrate his long and incredible life.

As governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter signed Title 25, granting fire fighters in the state the right to collectively bargain with their municipalities. His signature in 1971 gave International Association of Fire Fighters members a better, more secure future today. May he rest in peace.

Today we paid our final respects to Lieutenant Joseph Hurley of Ladder 24 gone too soon , he will be missed. May he Rest in Peace and Never be Forgotten.
