When your tracheostomy patient is weaning beautifully, but then suddenly has new onset swallowing problems it's best to ask your friendly SLT to have a look. It might just be that the NJT is wrapped around the patient's epiglottis!! Easy win!! More FEES trained SLT please.

Such an important educational thread. I doubt there are many SLT working in adult dysphagia would deny somebody a taste for pleasure/comfort in their dying days/weeks. Biozoon UK opens up such patient centred options here
