I would say the 90% cheaper version is not 90% reduced quality and probably will be more than adequate for 90% of your needs.

Absolutely chaos on the 12:00 train from Dublin to Cork. No carriage G on train - people with reserved seats - with no seats. Loud arguments going on. Iarnród Éireann

Was on this train last Sunday. Absolutely disgraceful and Iarnród Éireann did nothing about it then or since. Seeing elderly passengers sitting on suitcases in between carriages & people shouting at one another - total lack of organisation, or any care for it. irishexaminer.com/opinion/column…
