I made a bad art! I went to an acrylic painting class as part of my "try to meet anyone outside of the department" scheme. Most of the attendees were older ladies but I had a good time and made bad art (especially taken in comparison to what everyone else did!).

I'm meant to be working on a talk for tomorrow, but instead I've ended up obsessed with this stamp I found on a scan of Hutchinson's 1896 "Extinct Monsters". Who was this person that wanted a book on big animals and got thrown into the carceral system for it?

Forgot to share this when it came out - here's an episode of Common Descent Podcast where they interview myself, Curtis and Amanda about our podcast. It was interesting to undertake a bit of a retrospection of something that we've been doing for 10 years youtube.com/watch?v=chGw9R…

Sea scorpions 🌊🦂 You can clearly tell what I’ve been obsessed this week! They lived in different times and habitats, but I just want to imagine them gathering together and show what a masterpiece nature has done once upon a time!

We are looking for a teaching faculty member at WVU who will teach a variety of classes with a focus on geology and paleontology - this would be a good position for someone with an interest in biogeography with experience in GIS. Please share widely! jobs.chronicle.com/job/37735049
