Republican supermajority rejected federal dollars that would have fed hungry, low-income children during summer, when they could not get food at school. Vote like children's lives depend on it. #idpol

There is a well-funded national campaign at work seeking to gain power, destroy our democracy, and create a new country based around a very particular set of religious beliefs. One tentacle of this project is focused on school & public libraries. And thus we have HB710 #idpol

Medicaid means access to medical care for adults and kids with disabilities, low-income seniors, pregnant women, and families facing low wages. Because of Idaho Democratic Party, we were able to pass this budget. A majority of Republicans voted against funding Medicaid. #idleg #idpol

This flew through the House (every Democratic rep voted no). The vote count suggests we can uphold a veto in the House! Call Governor Little at 208-334-2100 and ask him to veto HB 710. #idleg #idpol

“What gets lost in conversations about book banning is that it’s really about eliminating the institution of the library, period. It’s not about the books. Well, it is… but the books are the way in to gut one of the last public institutions that serves everyone.” #idpol

Summer EBT is a common sense, compassionate way to meet nutritional needs of low income kids over the summer when school is out. So disturbing that 25 out of 28 Senate Republicans voted to kill this program. The Majority party is really out of touch with the majority of Idahoans.

The Idaho legislature has dug a hole that the medical system may not dig out of anytime soon & maternal health is not the only thing at risk. The chilling effect of gov't interfering in medicine impacts the entire system from primary care to geriatrics. idahostatesman.com/news/business/…

Idahoans overwhelmingly trust their local libraries and librarians to decide which books are on the shelves. It's disgraceful that Governor Little and Republican politicians do not. We will fight like hell to hold them accountable at the ballot box this November.

Governor Little knows the book bounty bill puts libraries across the state at risk for costly lawsuits and undermines our freedoms. He signed it anyway.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Rep. Sue Chew. She was a kind mentor, a good soul, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed, but her legacy is strong.

Supporters of the Idaho open primary ballot initiative are turning in their final signatures to local county clerks for verification today after building up what they believe is a comfortable margin to qualify for November’s general election. idahocapitalsun.com/2024/05/01/hav…

I’m old enough to remember when Republicans believed in small government and it would never have crossed our minds to conduct government surveillance of pregnant women.
