The Foster Care team had another great day of PL with our District 2 colleagues this week- engaging in meaningful discussion and sharing of best practices for supporting youth in foster care.

Summer’s heating up, but know that our schools are keeping their cool! Our schools have air conditioning to keep students safe and comfortable. Every day counts, and this time of year is full of learning, celebration, and milestones that your child will not want to miss.

It was a great first day of school! Thank you to the teams at CPE 2 and IS 528 for including us in your welcome back festivities. What a joy to see students, families & educators excited to return!

It’s only day 2 & our wellness programs and strong partnerships are off to a great start! Huge thanks to Revolutionary Reyes, the Academy for Independent Learning & Leadership 129x team and shelter coordinator, and Superintendent District12Bronx for modeling great work. I look forward to continued collaboration ahead this year!

Another day, another opportunity to celebrate the great work happening in our schools and shelters across the city, this time in the Bronx! Thank you Superintendents Padilla and Manolo and the 07x221 and 07x223 teams for inviting us.

Strong school and community partnerships are essential for student success, especially partnerships with our dedicated shelter staff who are doing great work to engage students and families, make meaningful school connections and ensure a strong start to the school year!

Had another great visit to a Bronx shelter this morning, where the STH shelter coordinator and DHS director are going above and beyond to ensure students have a strong start to the school year. Partnerships like this are critical to student success!

Another great day of school and shelter visits, this time in District 23. When adults form meaningful and collaborative partnerships, students thrive. I look forward to many great visits to come!

Bridging the Gap social workers play a critical role in supporting students academic and social-emotional success through resource sharing, partnerships and more. It was great to see that in action in Staten Island this morning.
