That is a 6,198 page page. It’s equivalent in length to about 25 novels.

This remains my favorite part of my hospital.

Chase wanted a rainbow-colored cast for his mom. Five Foot Photog 📸 settled with red, which matches most of the teams we follow.

We hear ya. We feel the same way about grocery stores that charge for food, doctors that charge for health care and landlords that charge for rent. What's the deal with this paying thing, anyway? ^JC

It should be shouted from the rooftops that Sheridan Hendrix and I were championed throughout this project by Megan Henry and Michael Lee

They could have walked away and never looked back. But they didn’t.

They checked in, they sent motivation, and we all celebrated in the end 🥰

We faced significant challenges in reporting this story. Sourcing was a challenge.

Michael Lee got laid off two months into our reporting. Megan Henry was suddenly moved off the beat.

Five Foot Photog 📸 and I shared a lot of tears and late nights. But we got it done.

This story is a long time coming and was intimately personal to report.

I know multiple people who slept in their cars and couch-surfed in college to make it through. They have degrees now, but not everyone is so fortunate.
