Well we made it! Tench, our final species to spawn this season. It’s been a tricky year this year with most fish spawning earlier due to the warm weather. But, everything is growing fast and we hope to move stock them out into our growing ponds very soon. #rodlicence

One angler had a fantastic days fishing, these crucian carp were stocked by Calverton fish farm just over three years ago. They sure have packed on some size! It’s amazing for the team to witness success stories.

This years two season barbel have been dye marked for identification and stocked out back into the ponds. We look forward to seeing how big these get over the next few months. #fishfarm #barbel #rodlicence

A Quick Look back to one of our many grayling stockings over the April and May months. All made possible, thanks to sales of rod licenses!

An important part of the process of rearing fit for purpose healthy fish, is sampling. Throughout the growing season we pick out a number of each species to check over, measure and weigh. This helps us monitor both the health and feeding rates of our fish.

On gloomy days like today, the dissolved oxygen levels in the water can drop quickly. We regularly monitor our stock ponds using great pieces of kit like this handy dip tester and ensure thorough aeration using large “splasher” pumps. #oxygaurd #rainyday #aeration #teamea

Automatic feeders ensure that our young fish get regular amounts of food daily. As you can see here with the Dace, a great feed response! #fishfarm #rodlicence #babyfish

Another sample, from one of our smaller ponds this time. These Barbel and Tench have easily doubled in size from when they were stocked in June 😮 Lovely condition, fit for purpose fish ready for their trip into waters around the country later on this year! #rodlicence #teamea

After a lot of netting, it’s all hands on deck to get the fish sorted into their individual species. Here’s just a snapshot of how it’s done. All fully funded by the rod licences purchased by fishermen across England 👏🫶
