8.5" (2 rainfall events in last 13 days. XUV/quad access only. 21 km up to EdgeOfAlgonquin camp. Distance btn these 2 (of many washed out culverts) is a few km. One heads to Georgian Bay and the other to the Ottawa. Camp itself is fine. One bull moose visitor. +17C, clear at 11am

4 km down the Algonquin Dome from EdgeOfAlgonquin camp - 30' bridge over this completely dried up stream. Never saw that before.

Today: a day trip from EdgeOfAlgonquin camp over to Commanda and Restoule. One never knows what may be available in the Near North. Organic firewood.

EdgeOfAlgonquin is the only place I do the homemade pies. However, our Acelyn wanted to learn: with peaches from her Walkerton area farm and blueberries from B.C., ... turned out to be one extremely delicious experiment. DoItAgainForSure.

Sundown: Algonquin Dome

Severe drought conditions on the Algonquin Dome continues- with this normally 10 foot wide fast flowing stream 4km from camp, completely dry. OMNR helocopters flew over us yesterday to assist in fighting a fire 15km south, near Kearney. No chainsaw work by us till this changes.

Today: celebrating 48 years of marriage with this gal, AND one of the few times in all of those years (and the seven years prior) we are not presently having some rather unique experience in the Algonquin area bush. But there is next week…
