Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng She encouraged journalists & media practitioners to tell the full story & ensure that they are not biased.
Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng noted that as adults, we must take accountability & unlearn harmful opinions & biases that affect survivors negatively & do not promote positive societal change.
On advocacy, Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng says “Be great where you are”.
Such a profound statement for many who feel like that advocacy for SRHR and GBV is limited to certain spaces or roles.
All of us can do something where we are
We have seen how various media houses carelessly and insensitively report on SGBV and SRHR in Namibia. This summit is really important especially if media practitioners are to use their platforms to mitigating SGBV. Sensitive reporting is key!
