November 💫 I’ve got some big changes on the horizon, and change can be scary, exciting, and nerve-racking all at the same time. But I found by keeping control/on top of my finances month by month, I take one of life’s BIGGEST stressors of all off my plate.

What income do you think you need to be happy? Research shows that happiness grows as income increases but at a certain level it then tails off. Let me know your maximum happiness point. Tweet me or BBC Money Box if you would or DM if you want to keep it private!

Everything can be so fast paced sometimes, life naturally goes on autopilot and you barely have time to think, feel or reflect. It’s OK to slow down. Stop. Take a breath. Do a little self-assessment. Then keep on moving once everything is aligned!

A lot of times people think it’s about the destination. But once people have arrived at the place they’ve always dreamed about, they’ll often say they wish they enjoyed the journey more. I truly believe it’s as much about the journey as it is the destination!

1 in 4 parents are spending >75% of their income on childcare costs! That is outrageous and it’s unsustainable. As always, this will mostly impact women and their ability to build solid financial futures due to career breaks or part time work. Change is a MUST!

This is a prime example of what expensive childcare can cause. A huge pension gap between men and women! #InternationalWomansDay

Being good with money really isn’t rocket science - thankfully! You know as they say, personal finance is 20% knowledge, 80% behaviour. I fully believe that. You can absolutely rock your finances with a bit of foreplanning, discipline and consistency.

Many asking "how do to prevent my mortgage rate jumping unaffordably when my fix ends?" The problem is Bank of England interest rates rises are a deliberate disposable income squeeze. Its designed for you to pay massively more, so there's less money in economy, to help inflation.

31 years old and have had the joy of: • A global financial crisis • Brexit • A global pandemic • A pending recession • A decade of stagnant wages! All whilst trying to create a happy and financially stable life. I think we all deserve a big pat on the back honestly 🙃

I don’t know who needs to hear this but… CHECK YOUR CREDIT SCORE REGULARLY! I’ve been burned twice in recent years. Trying to get something fixed on a credit score is either an awful process, or just impossible. A quick check monthly could save you when you need it most!

November 22nd - The day women in the U.K. start working for FREE for the rest of the year Equal payday represents the pay gap between men and women. The gap is so big that from November 22nd, it’s the equivalent of women working for free in comparison to men. OUCH 😓

The only tax cut announced in the autumn budget was a reduction to NI from 12% to 10% If you’re anything like me thinking “So what will this actually look like?” The Salary Calculator website always reflects changes quickly. It’ll show what take home pay will be come Jan 2024.

£184.03 per week - The current weekly rate of statutory maternity pay (SMP) So that’s around £736.12 for a four-week month. I guess mothers just have to work some magic to make this stretch in this economic climate.
