Sakiasi Ditoka visited families in communities affected by the recent floods in Ra, yest & also handed over food ration supplies to affected families who were identified on the recommendation of the Agriculture Fiji following their damage assessments.

Staff members of Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and DM based at its Headquarters gathered in Suva yesterday for its annual Easter Service.
On behalf of the Ministry’s senior management & all staff,we wish you & your families a blessed Easter season filled with hope,love & compassion❗️
As an outcome of the Emergency Committee meeting yest, we have joined efforts with National Fire Authority to support Water Authority of Fiji to cart water to the CWM Hospital in Suva,ensuring that water is readily available for patients & staff members currently based at the hospital.
MITIGATION COMMITTEE MEETING 📍
Members of the Mitigation Committee met in Suva today.
Chaired by the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and DM Mr. Isoa Talemaibua, the meeting was convened to bring together the relevant stakeholders to discuss Govt’s flood mitigation interventions.
Adjusted my program this afternoon for a visit to Fiji NDMO HQ. Had insightful discussions with Director Ms. Vasiti Soko on #ClimateSecurity , #DisasterRiskManagement and addressing areas flooded by heavy rain in the region. Vinaka 🙏 for accommodating us at such short notice.
📍Fiji NDMO Director Vasiti Soko made a brief stop at the Fiji Meteorological Service today where she was briefed by A/DMet on the weather forecast for the coming days.
🤝An opportune time to personally acknowledge the good work done by FMS in the timely release of reliable weather info.

Officers from the Tavua Fire Station assisted in conveying a sick patient seeking immediate medical attention in the midst of the flood yest.A 4-member team was dispatched to attend to the case after an emergency call was received by the Station.
